The EduConservation project bets on education of the youth as a major leverage to regain balance between the impacts of the satisfaction of human needs and the necessary conservation of the environment.
This project will enable the creation of educational contents, which will be integrated in standard school programs of African countries. Our objective is to train the youth to solve the issues posed by the growing fragility of the ecosystems and the degradation of biodiversity in their environment, both locally and worldwide. We firmly believe that such a training will lead them to adapt their behaviours and, more generally, society’s attitude toward building a new balance.
Education is key in the evolution of our societies
The role of education, in the way societies live and evolve, is crucial. In this project, we consider it to be a fundamental tool in the emergence of a global conscience regarding the challenges of preserving the richness of biodiversity and the natural ecosystems.
Our vision is confirmed by the UNESCO 2016 Global education monitoring report, which shows on page 10 that education has a significant impact on the 17 Sustainable Development Goals of the United Nations, which are:
- No poverty
- « Zero » hunger
- Good health and well-being
- Quality education
- Gender equality
- Clean water and sanitation
- Affordable and clean energy
- Decent work and economic growth
- Industry, innovation and infrastructure
- Reduced inequalities
- Sustainable cities and communities
- Responsible consumption and production
- Climate action
- Life below water
- Life on land
- Peace, justice and strong institutions
- Partnerships for the goals
Education serving nature conservation
The educational material proposed by the EduConservation project aims at lastingly inscribing in society the values and behaviours in favour of nature conservation, with the help of the African educational systems. In complement, a digital platform will make this content accessible to all and will allow young people from around the world to interact, thus creating a large community that will be aware of the challenges it will have to face. The EduConservation project aims at educating the strong economic and social leaders of tomorrow, who will know how to reconcile human development and environmental preservation.
